ImageTuesday, Oct. 13 – PamCham’s Infrastructure Directorate headed by Director Bong D. Mah, initiated moves to explore possible solutions to the pestering traffic congestion in front of the two malls in the City of San Fernando Pampanga which had infuriated motorists and passengers for the past year. The discussion during the meeting was straightforward and quite productive, with all the concerned agencies, LGU departments, law enforcement authorities and executives of SM and Robinson Starmills articulating their positions, suggestions and respective solutions to the exasperating gridlock.

According to PamCham Director Bong Mah, it became clear during the meeting that all concerned parties were unanimous in their desire to alleviate the recurrent clogging in the area. All that was needed was for PamCham to get all the stakeholders to sit down, objectively analyze and sensibly put their acts together to resolve the problem. PamCham’s objective in calling for the consultative meeting is to precisely resolve the pestering traffic dilemma which is already hampering the transport of goods and services to and from the City of San Fernando and the Municipality of Mexico. The consequent delays in transport logistics are beginning to burden business and hamper growth and development in both areas. In the next few days, the traffic flow will be streamlined to relieve the jamming and the traffic authorities will simultaneously install necessary lane barriers to effectively direct and isolate motorists headed for the malls from those just passing through. Buses, jeepneys, and even tricycle routes will correspondingly be adjusted to further ease traffic flow.
Present in the consultative meeting were Engr. Amor Aguas of the DPWH, Engr. Armando Austria, Provl Engineers Office, Engr. Jesus Pangilinan, Mun. Engr, Mexico, Mr. Marlon Batac of LGU-CSFP/CPDCO, Mr. Joseph Reyes of LGU-CSFP/CPDCO, Mr. Kevin Ronquillo of TMD LGU-CSFP, PSupt. Benjamin Medina - Chief of Police CSFP PS, PSupt Ferdinand Perez-Chief of Police MPS, PO2 Vincent Yang, PNP Mexico PS, Ms. Lolit D. Martin, SCMC-SM City Pampanga, Ms. Roselle Sarmiento, SCMC-SM City Pampanga, Charlie Caballero, S.O. SM City Pampanga, Arch. Oliver Gadia of Robinsonsland, and Capt. Conrado Pacla of PamCham Infra Directorate.
