PamCham Calls for GOOD and EFFECTIVE Governance

On June 24, 2010, PamCham appealed for Good and Effective Governance from the incoming administration of Governor Elect Lilia “Baby” Pineda and re-elected Vice Governor Joseller “Yeng” Guiao. PamCham President Rene Romero acknowledged that Good Governance alone is not enough to catapult the province to progress and development. It must transcend and translate to Effective Governance in order for the benefits to trickle down and be felt by the kapampangans. PamCham together with NEDA Region 3 took the initiative in crafting a Pampanga Development Framework with its corresponding legislative agenda. This was presented to the elected Governor and re-elected Vice Governor during the chamber’s General Membership Meeting at the Holiday Inn attended by 296 members and guests from the business community and government sector.Chairman Levy Laus stated that Pampanga must lead the region to development on account of the fact that Pampanga is at the center of what he referred to as the “Golden Triangle of Development in Luzon”. This specifies to the unique strategic value envisioned to “bring in energy and attraction in terms of more investments, infrastructure and other economic interests”. This is expected to “catapult” Pampanga as the “epicenter of economic growth and prosperity”.
