 PamCham had the second largest number of delegates to the 18th North Luzon Area Business Conference hosted by the Baguio Chamber of Commerce held at the Baguio Country Club Ballroom. All sixteen delegates took off for the City of Pines early morning of August 20, Thursday to attend the two day conference.
Led by Chairman Levy P. Laus (LAUS GROUP OF COMPANIES) and President Rene G. Romero, Directors Malou Garbes, Terry Carlos, Cesar Ocampo, Reggie Fabros, Jesse Yap, Jim Jimenez, Boy Bituin, Levi Hao, Marco Hizon; along with members Myrna Bituin and Jay Carlos lent their full support to the NLABC with the theme ONE.GLOBAL.FILIPINO, ‘Yes WE Can!... Business Beyond Usual’.

 PamCham organized a Disaster Risk Manangement Briefing facilitated by PHIVOLCS Director, Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr. to educate and expound on the disturbing pronouncement of a magnitude 7 or 8 earthquake purportedly hitting metro manila. PamCham decided that an expert’s credible explanation of the science behind the scary phenomenon is necessary – this way, panic is dispelled and the appropriate measures can be undertaken to minimize damages to property and lives.

 PamCham’s Bamboo Propagation committee headed by Chairperson Myrna Bituin spearheaded a bamboo planting project at the Techno Resource Center (TRC) in Barangay Paraluyan, Mabalacat, Pampanga last June 5, 2009 at 4 pm. Other industry associations like the Chamber of Furniture Industries of Pampanga (CFIP), Philexport R3 along with the DTI, DOST and Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) also planted bamboo seedlings which will kick off a regional and province wide bamboo propagation and product development awareness program. Before the end of the year, PamCham’s Bamboo Propagation committee intends to conduct a bamboo show where products made out of bamboo will be showcased and sold in the local market.

 PamCham sucessfully held its 26th General Membership Meeting and Induction of New Members on May 28, 2009; 11:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Carworld Showroom, Jose Abad Santos Avenue, City of San Fernando Pampanga. Attended by the crème de la crème of the business community in Pampanga, Carworld showroom was packed with members and guests donned in their best business suits and barong tagalogs.

 On May 23, 2009, from 10 am to 4 pm, PamCham’s CSR committee headed by Ms. Leslie B. Mendiola of JB Woodcrafts of Betis Guagua, Pampanga treated 40 children of member companies’ workers to reading, feeding and flu vaccination. The activity was made possible through the generous support of pamcham members and directors.

 On May 21, 2009 – Thursday at the internationally acclaimed Mimosa Lakeview and Acacia Golf Course, PamCham successfully held its third golf tournament organized by the chamber’s golf committee headed by Mr. Allan Dungao of Sattelite Cable Network (SCN). Golf enthusiasts from all over Pampanga and nearby provinces participated in the tournament. Awarding ceremony was held at 6 pm at the Casino Mimosa inside Clark Freeport. All golf participants went home with prizes from the raffle draws and the tournament winners were awarded their respective category trophies with tokens from West Cigarettes.
